Generally,
Oracle works the same regardless than if it's running on Windows or Unix, even if "under the hood", the mechanics is a bit different (for example, it uses multiple processes on Unix, but only different threads of the same process on Windows). Personally, I saw Oracle being more stable (i.e. less crashes, processes terminated, ...) on Unix. At a high level, there is not much difference in the Oracle installation on Unix as opposed as on Windows. Only when fine-tuning, there are some (both Oracle and OS) parameters which can be set differently for Oracle to be more "in tune" with the OS (such as the number of semaphores on Unix).
