I'm interested in making a true comparison (not subjective religious)
between the Oracle 8i on NT and Oracle 8i on Linux performance of an
app that I developed, but I don't know which Oracle's settings must I
see and change to ensure that the dbms instance on NT is on equal
conditions to the dbms instance on Linux.
My app is running as a Win9x client but relies on many stored
procedures on the DB side, the app measures the time of its work.
The instances for comparing are installed on the same machine in this
way:
1)Windows NT Server 4.0(Backoffice) with Oracle 8i (8.1.7) Enterprise
Edition.
2)RedHat 6.2 (Kernel 2.4) with Oracle 8i (8.1.7) Enterprise Edition.
