Re: Power Failure, had to reinstall Oracle8i on Redhat 6.1--why

Sounds more like a problem of Redhat 6.1/the ext2 filesystem not withstanding the power failure. If the OS or FS wipes one of the file Oracle needs there is nothing Oracle can do about it. Look at going to ReiserFS when it make it into the new kernel.
