sqlldr with DIRECT = TRUE is orders of magnitude faster than sqlldr without. import is orders of magnitude slower than sqlldr without DIRECT = TRUE.

I always look for some other way than to use exp/imp for any table of significant size. export even runs slower than I'd expect.
