If your goal is to have a mirrired database at a remote site I would recomend that you purchas Oracle's Replication Services Options.

This would allow you to make shure that all transactions commited against one copy of the database are reflected in the other after a brief (user selectabel) period of time.

Just rember that your databases will need to be able to support approximatly twice the number of update transactions than the number required by the stand alone system. This will work well if you do not have a very large volume of update transactions.
