I agree with the limitations. I have used some languages that truly SUBCLASS. Oracles interpretation of subclassing is still in the dark ages.

Also the object library does not act as a library. It generally requires some manual tweaking after importing objects just to get them to match the original definitions.

Oracle needs some help from some real OOD experts to help them get the concept right.

The interface to windowing classes still is very limited. Also I am constantly running into events that do not fire consistently. (e.g WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED fires when a form is loaded from another form for the first two or three times than it does not fire anymore... go figure)

Oracle has a long way to go to make the GUI development environment truly world class. The back end database is way up there but the tools are overpriced for their capabilities. That's why when I need to develop user friendly interfaces that will include some modern functionality I have to go to other development tools such as Delphi and even MS Visual studio (enterprise version).
