You cant define the number of archive generated, but you can define
the limit as to the information about the archives generated in the
control file.


The control_file_record_keep_time parameter specifies for how many
times the archive log information is maintained in the control file.
You can see the current usage using V$CONTROLFILE_RECORD_SECTION
