Are you concerned over the distruction of Comp.Databases.Oracle?
Don't be! There is a much better substitute! Get in touch with people who know how to answer your questions - just as accessable as the newsgroups - but on the web!
All you need is your C.S.I. number (which you can get from your DBA).

The hot-topics area presents the product's lastest version alerts desupport notices the product's top product articles. The installation-assistance area includes step-by-step installation instructions installation manuals release notes README files product updates. The technical-support knowledge base lets you execute a full text-query against all published data in the following categories: technical-support bulletins product articles product-enhancement requests alerts README files white papers release notes step-by-step installation instructions. The product-reference area offers product documentation lists of supported product versions technical-support bulletins white papers. In the technical forum, Oracle technical analysts and Oracle customers post and respond to technical questions. File Formats
The following standard binary file formats are used in MetaLink:

Items with hyperlinks require additional software to view and/or use. Follow the hyperlinks to the site where you can download your own version of the software. Please note that Oracle does not provide support for these software titles.
Version
The service goes into production at Oracle OpenWorld, 1996. After that, Oracle Worldwide Support will update MetaLink's content and product-support offerings continually. Worldwide Support will also add new features and functionality to MetaLink quarterly.
