Sure you can't read what you don't have/get , but you also won't be able to post to the groups that your news server doesn't have - they won't be stored in the news spool and thus will not be propagated to the neighbours. And yeah, they also won't be accepted from your news agent.

Ask your news admin to add com.oracle.* groups into the active file and make sure local news servers will be fed these groups by it's peers.

Usually , all IPSs carry whole comp*** hierarchy.
