Why no patches available from Oracle's ftp/www server ?

This is somewhat disturbing. Oracle knows as we all know that its 7.1 release for Solaris x86 has some serious bugs. But why would they not release patches for these on their ftp or web server and want you to have to pay for it ?

Why should we be paying for their mistakes ?

Any ideas as to why Oracle thinks that they can do this ?
