Ever since I first learned of the reuse issue, I have asked several Oracle instructors about it. I always get the basic response I laid out in my previous mail. I am not aware of differences between UNIX platforms. I currently work on AIX, HP, and Sun and am not aware of any differences. Then again, maybe I'm not looking close enough. It would not be unusual to have a "undocumented feature" (bug) for one version of Oracle on a specific platform, that may not reuse space like other versions and/or platforms.
