US - CA - San Diego - Intelligent Database Person

I need an intelligent database person to replace same on a multi year Oracle Based project.

This person will be local to the San Diego area since the powers that be consider this position relatively junior and are not going to spring for interview travel or moving expenses.

The person I am losing (he's moving back to SF) was a UCSD CS type with 2 years of experience - all working for me - with 1 year of Oracle and 1 year of Informix. Unfortunately, we are too far into this to use a beginner (I generally train my own) so 2 years of data base experience (Informix, Oracle, Sybase) but preferably Oracle, in a UNIX environment would be wonderful. There are four people on the database team on what is a 100 person Ada project, so this is not a small effort.

We anticipate having this person write Oracle Forms applications, stored PL/SQL procedures, imbedded SQL in Pro*Ada, do installations (Oracle on HPUX and Solaris 2.4), and other tasks of this ilk. We (the other database people) are covered in most of the technical areas we need so we can be somewhat flexible in the type of person we bring in. If you are not happy writing lots of PL/SQL and lots of Pro*Ada, however, you will not be happy here.
