i am running a pentium 100 with 24m. iwas running it with 8 and the disk thrashed constantly while in OPO. 16 is probably enough with a pentium, with a 486, the extra memory is warranted. the larger the database the more memory you need as the cache gets larger. i only develop, a semi or all production database would likely benefit with at least the 24m.
