A shutdown normal waits until everyone logs off of Oracle before Oracle
shuts itself down (and you can be waiting for a long time).
If you do a 'shutdown immediate', Oracle will not wait and instead
kick everyone off and then shut down.
I don't think it's a major crisis,especially if your users know about
the shutdown.
