Doris,

We also use the Designer/2000 toolset. The new tools are very nice. Realize however that CASE requires tremendous mgmt commitment to succeed. The payback time is much longer do to the large amount of upfront analysis and modeling. However, the long term results are typically better and more manageable applications.

One note about the Designer/2000 toolset. It ships with a 68 page manual. No written documentation. No CD-ROM documentation. Oracle says written documentation due July or August for extra charge.

This is marketing stupidity at it's highest level. Oracle says in effect, don't grip, all documentation is available in Windows Help. Thats great if you've got 60 days to print it topic by topic.

If you're new to CASE, you'll need documentation and I wouldn't recommend this product to you. $4000 for Windows Help is insulting. Received on Fri Jun 02 1995 - 00:00:00 CEST
