Running FORMS 4.0 in a character based environment

I have a requirement to run FORM 4.0 in a character based environment on an HP 9000 UNIX based platform. I know that it is a GUI based tool but I thinks that there is alot more to FORMS 4.0 than the GUI aspects. Half of Oracle says it can be done and the other half says it can't be done.

Has anyone tried this before.

p.s. I plan on going GUI but it will take at least 2 years for the client to procurr 700 workstations and get them all operational.
