I read the thread about SQL*Net over dial-up with interest. I have unrelated but similar problems. I am trying to get Powerbuilder under Windows for Workgroups to communicate with Oracle7 on an RS6000 using SQL*Net 1.1.7.8 and am getting erratic results (success 40% of the time, one of 3 error messages the other 60%). Has anyone else thrashed this out successfully? I have SQL*NET V1 (orasrv) and V2 (tnslsnr) available on the server, and my customer is willing to upgrade to SQL*Net V.current if that is a sure fix.

FYI, the connection is stable under Windows with the separate Lanman2 TCP/IP stack, but downgrading the clients to that is not a possibility. Also, changing POOLSIZE and MAXSENDSIZE seems to change the behavior, but not in any repeatable, analyzable way. Any light shed would be greatly appreciated
