OR, since I did not read this as a blatant ad, perhaps I'm being a bit too generous. Comments from the others appreciated!
The way I read the response was
"You need to do some troubleshooting to identify what is slowing down. For that, you need something known to be fast. We are satisfied that our product should have a fast connect so you can use that to see where the bottleneck exists. In fact, since it's written in Java, it's portable (so you can try it out several places).
By the way, if you decide to use it as above, feel free to test it out ... it's in beta testing, so free for now."
While I agree that their tool might not be the right tool for doing a proper diagnosis, I gave them credit for suggesting how it could be useful in this situation. In fact, compared to the spam that's been circulating, I found the approach rather refreshing.
