A brief comment seems in order. The original poster is using SQLPlus which relies upon the TCP/IP transport, the SQL*Net client, and the machine that it is launched from. By using our product, which is Java based, it would be possible to eliminate SQL*Net and/or the launching of the program as the problem. If our program was also slow, then the user could concentrate on Oracle server or network protocol issues.

[Quoted] [Quoted] Characterizing my post as a "shameless" promotion of our product seems rather harsh, because it is available at no cost to the poster and might actually help him solve his problem. The download and test would be a one-time event which would take about 5 minutes.

I personally contribute to various forums and Open Source projects and have for many years. I have also been able to solve many, many problems with the help of others who freely share their experience through these news groups. I believe that we all benefit from this collaboration, which often includes references to commercial and non-commercial products. Received on Fri May 28 2004 - 19:53:15 CEST
