[Quoted]  Helo guys! We've got a problem and I hope that your help would be useful ..

We use Forms version 5.0.6.8.0 ...

We have noticed a strange behavior in forms that we can't manage. Our application is composed of several forms that are called from the menu, and some of them can also call another forms (for example, a multirecord  block that opens a detail form when double-clicking on this record). We use 'open_form' and 'exit_form' to manage this.

Sometimes, when we have several opened forms and we close one of them, the runtime crashes (with no visible error) and quits.

However, it's not always possible to recreate this error. A sequence of open/close that made the runtime crash may work well on a later test.

We've got an example that crashes ever. A concrete form with a multirecord  block that calls another (detail form) when double clicking on it, always crashes with this sequence:

  • open the form with the multi-record block (having other already opened forms)
  • double-click on a record to open the detail form
  • close the detail form
  • close the form with the multi-record block

This problem has been also reported by us to the Oracle Metalink list with the reference 20629.996, but no one was able to help us.

Do you have any idea ? Any clue would be welcome.  Thank you anyway for spending a part of your time helping us ...

 Regards... Jordi GinĂ©.
