Reports 4.5: High Volume

Does anyone have any experience using Oracle Reports for high volume jobs, say 4000 to 6000 pieces?

We are Developer 2000 shop and made a decision to not to use Oracle Reports for this type of work because of early (4.0 initial releases) problems. Has this improved at all? Can we do big jobs?
