Hi All,

I agree that the integrity, experience, and ability to teach materials are of the utmost importance to those trying to learn Oracle. As the original question was about The Database Domain and if anyone had heard anything about it, I would like to add the following:

To help clear things up a bit, The Database Domain provides online (Web-based) and CD-ROM training. The head of the development team there is Steve Bobrowski, who credentials include:

  • Previously worked for Oracle Corp., where he assisted in the development of Oracle Server and Oracle's own documentation for Oracle7 and Oracle8 (in fact, he wrote over 2,000 pages of the Oracle7 doc).
  • Has been a columnist for Oracle Magazine since 1993.
  • Author of the award-winning book "Mastering Oracle7 & Client/Server Computing" (Sybex, 1994, 1996)
  • Author of the book "Oracle8 Architecture" from Oracle Press.
  • Has also written and edited magazine articles for several industry publications, including DBMS, OReview, SELECT Magazine, and Database Programming & Design.

In fact, Ken Jacobs, VP of Oracle's Server Technologies Division and Project Manager for Oracle8, says of Steve Bobrowski:

"Few people understand Oracle better than Steve does, and no one can do a better job of making the technology understandable to others."

Just thought I'd get a obviously biased :) but I believe fair word in here for The Database Domain and its development team.

Thanks for reading.
Kathleen
