        I doubt you will get a executable to run on a PC as a bit mapped application and on a

        normal "vt100" clone terminal. Terminal Emulation in conjunction with Bit mapped

        applications on a PC is usually what people do.

        But be warned, if you do go for Oracle's new range of PC based development tools

        DEV2000 Windows for Workgroups is a waste of time, it has terrible memory leakage

        and GPF's all the time.NT or 95 is your best bet with a minimum of 32Mb RAM.

        Not sure about Oracle 8 and OpenVMS.

        As far as Migrating from Cobol, Oracle do have a product Pro*Cobol which allows embeded

        SQL in Cobol programs. You could migrate and stick them through the pre-compiler before

        compiling as normal. Unsure about timescales, I've never been fortunate enough to have

        programmed in Cobol, only C and C++.
