I have connected Excel 5.0 under windows 3.1 to oracle database using the odbc drivers that came with Excel. You use microsoft query (comes with Excel), which, AFAIK is used for just that purpose, pulling data into Excel from foreign sources. It's extremely easy to set up this way, but not fast! I just followed the manual's instructions.
