Roles and Responsibilities
Adhering to SLAs Reporting to the Track Lead
Mentoring / Training Team Members Assign tasks to the team members
Incident Management Process Assign tasks to the team members Change Management Process
Problem Management Process
Need to represent Problem Management Calls Monitor team members and their SLAs Configuration Management
Handling tickets / requests Perform root cause analysis Troubleshooting technical issues
Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to
Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
Understanding of Multi-geo support environment Responsible for building / maintaining a test environment
Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
Suggests new technologies and design changes
Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
Testing / Auditing/processes as required from time to time Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating Assist in Data centre consolidation efforts
Perform H/W & performance monitoring and maintenance
Experience and Skills required
5 + years of experience
• Installing, configuring and maintaining Windows - Windows 2000, Windows 2003 & Windows 2008
• Hardening & Securing of Windows 2000, Windows 2003 & Windows 2008
• Managing & Securing Active Directory 2003 & 2008
• Installing, Configuring of DNS 2003 & DNS 2008
• Installing, Configuring & Managing Certificate Services of Server 2003 & Server 2008
• Installing, Configuring & Managing DFS Files System on Windows 2003 & Server 2008
• Installing, Configuring & Managing HP SIM as Enterprise Hardware Monitoring Tool
• Installing, Configuring & Managing DHCP on Server 2003 & Server 2008
• Server build & Decommission
• Design and configure the High Availability environment using MSCS or other cluster solutions with knowledge/experience on Storage Devices (SAN, NAS, DAS)
• Good Proficiency in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning
• Installation and Configuration of atleast one backup tool – BackupExec /Netbackup /Arcserve
• MS Patch administration (planning and deployment) WSUS & SCCM
• Printer Administration -Secure Prininting & Working knowledge on Network Printing
• Managing & Troubleshooting Hardware - HP / UCS / Compaq and Operating system related issue
• Capacity planning and Fine tune system for optimal performance
o Virtualization knowledge would be added advantage
• Worked on Production systems
o Datacenter understanding
o Global exposure in large environments would be preferred.
o Onsite transition experience would be an added advantage.
o Experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
o Must be an expert in base OS and atleast one/some of the following with basic knowledge/awareness of some of the others:
o Active Directory
o SMS – Packaging and deployment
o File and Print Services
o Backup
o Exchange
o Windows Clustering
• "- Monitoring and Management tools like HPOVO, SIM (System Insight Manager), IBM Director, BMC Patrol, NetIQ, etc.
Certification requirements
• MCSE / MCSA / MCITP
