I was told that Net8 was a replacement for Sql*Net. Yet there's still a bunch of sqlnet config files laying around.

And you're right about Oracle native products, like Designer/2000. It insists on using Net8. Problem is, Net8 utils don't work on 98 (java).

So, if I've installed oracle's 8.0.5 ODBC, does it "call" sqlnet or something? Do I have to do further sqlnet config?
