yes it uses Net8 (SQL*Net version 8, a 'rose' by any other name...) and yes you must configure this on the client before ODBC will work. You can manually configure NET (just like SQL*Net 2.x) by editing the SQLNET.ORA and TNSNAMES.ORA files on the client if you can't run NET 8 Easy Config. Received on Tue Sep 15 1998 - 08:58:30 CDT
