Oracle on NT platform:System requirements??

Folks -------

I am adrift in a sea of possibilities --

I have been asked by the PC chauvinists to move a Oracle/UNIX application from its box ( an aging sun 4/390 named kerplop ) to a soulless PC troll which is to run NT and Oracle version 8.

Alas!! Tha apps to be ported are many and mangled --- and no one is left to decipher them. Apps side is to be receive minimal porting labor.

Enough of this!! What I want to know is this: What are people running on NT using for a System ( hardware and Software ) for Oracle version 8 applications?

I wanted to get an eval copy and try it out, but the answer looks like no. Please give me some insight into what is needed, can you run concurrent apps, and any other little hints. Please - NO suggestion that I port the apps to a new database. I still need 100% compatibility with the internal corporate Data market.
