Database Administrator

A Database Administrator (DBA) is a person who performs Database Administration duties. DBA's are mainly concerned with the environmental aspects of the database. Typical DBA responsibilities include:

  • Backup and recovery;
  • Database security;
  • Availability management;
  • Database performance tuning;
  • Integrity of the data; and
  • Developer assistance.
