Execute immediate ???

I need help from any one who can diagnose the problems I have when I tried to execute the following code in Oracle8i (8.1.7) in PL/SQL.

The code is listed below:

execute immediate
'select '||columnName||' into mouseID from TMP_TAILBLOCK_WELLS'||
' where id=1200';

Note: both columnName and mouseID are variables.

This is the error message:
