Perhaps someone could explain why object databases are so little used - both have theory going back to the 60's

From what I see and hear from people at the sharp end using ObjectStore - it's a can of worms. It doesnt perform, it isn't robust, and it isn't easy to use - but it's supposed to look cool on the CV (this year anyway)!
