ORACLE APPLICATIONS DIVISION REPORTS RECORD THIRD QUARTER REVENUES Strong Financial Performance Continues 12-Month Trend

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., March 18, 1996-Oracle Corp. today announced that third

quarter license and services revenue from its Oracle Applications business grew 103 percent over the same period last year. For the third quarter of the fiscal 1996, which ended February 29, 1996, Oracle Applications posted $67 million in software license fees, up 103 percent over the same period last year. Applications-related services revenue totaled $101 million, a 102 percent increase over the same period last year.

"In our fourth consecutive quarter of record revenues and continued growth, Oracle Applications has solidified its leadership position in packaged client/server applications," said Robert Shaw, senior vice president, Oracle Applications and Services.

During this quarter, Oracle expanded its offering of integrated third-party software by approving 11 more Cooperative Applications Initiative (CAI) members. CAI allows Oracle to offer its customers integrated, best-of-class third-party solutions to complex industry, business and technology requirements. A total of 20 software vendors are now approved CAI members, having met Oracle's integration requirements. Worldwide, there are currently more than 100 software vendors who are using Oracle Applications' open APIs (application programming interfaces) to integrate their products.

The company continued on-time delivery of its recently-introduced Oracle Applications' Smart Client Release by shipping the following modules: Oracle Assets, Oracle Bills of Material, Oracle Capacity, Oracle Cost Management, Oracle EDI Gateway, Oracle Engineering, Oracle Inventory, Oracle Payables and Government Payables, Oracle Quality, and Oracle Work in Process.

Also in the third quarter, Michael Hunt, from Ross Systems Europe, was appointed to run the Oracle's applications business in Europe as the company continues to focus in that region.

Oracle Applications' outstanding third quarter was highlighted by what is believed to be the world's largest combined order for human resources applications. The U.S. Defense Department selected Oracle to manage all the information linked to two million civilians and Air Force personnel. Defense Department officials credited the flexibility, scalability and regulatory compliance of Oracle's offering as the three main reasons for its selection. Oracle's Smart Client Release human resources family provides robust functionality, a rich user interface and market-leading scalability-a critical concern for large enterprises.

Oracle Corp. is the world's leading supplier of software for information management, and the world's second largest software company. With annual revenues of more than $3.5 billion, the company offers its database, tools and application products, along with related consulting, education, and support services, in more than 90 countries around the world.
