In order for you to connect internal, you need to be member of the OS group "dba" . You are in charge of your Unix system, so practically you can make anybody able to connect internal & do what he/she pleases with the Oracle instance!!!! On not technical note, I would recommend that instead of playing politics with your "Oracle DBA", maybe you should try working together with the best interest of all involved in mind ( including your employer ). Good luck, you will need it..
