Cheap shot and uncalled for. I once spent a week determining database structures. The reason?I had incomplete specs and needed to speak to people and get LOTS of details. It was an iterative process and finally, I had something that the users and the computer could deal with.
If I hadn't had communications skills sufficient to deal with this (read "If I had been incompetent..."), I couldn't have produced a decent product and wouldn't have had anything to do back in my "dark room".
