Here is the result of a benchmark we ran last week:

60 million row insert, with a 6-part primary index on a 2-way T500, including indexing and RI:

Oracle 7.2 - 19.5 hours
RedBirck VPT 3.5 - 4 hours

1 million row insert into a 60 million row table:

Oracle 7.2 - 1hour 15 minutes
Red Brick - 4 minutes, 10 seconds

Similar results in every other benchmark we ran.
