SQL*Net V2 Question

I'm trying to configure our SQL*Net files to be used by 2 different Client-Server applications. The applications will be sharing a production database instance. I'd like the ability to turn off the listener for each application seperately. Oracle Network Manager won't allow me to set up two seperate listeners for the same database. Does anyone know why or have a work around?

I'd appreciate any help I could get.
