Not to get involved in a holy war here, but Oracles data center is Oracles
data center not my data center or your data center. The factors they
considered in chosing a managment tool might not have anything to do with
you or me.
Oracle's choice is only significant to me if it means that Eco will be able to get better data out of an Oracle database than anyother product on the market. That is apparently not the case. (Let me know if I'm wrong about this)
Oracle is only saying Eco is the best tool for the us in our production environment. That choice was probably made for technical, economic and political reasons. (as are all choices in large companies) They are not endorsing ECO as the best tool for every shop on the planet that runs Oracle.
Eco BTW is a fine tool. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a client if there was a fit. But lets not make more out of this than it really is.
