It was my understanding that the SCO compatability work being done for Linux, was not simply to provide the ability to run Wordperfect SCO, but to provide Linux users the ability to run Oracle. How close they are to that goal, I don't know- try asking on c.o.linux.* groups.

I doubt the major issue for ORACLE is porting the DBMS to Linux. (I hear that most people have more problems porting code to AIX than to Linux) ORACLE's problem with offering ORACLE-linux is probably support. Hell, I hear they won't support your client apps unless they are linked to IXI's Motif (that means those of us who compiled Motif ourselves or who bought from a cheaper 3rd party are out of luck, no matter what Metal Service we own)

Open Systems? Isnt that a magazine?
