Sometimes this will happen when you connect to many times to the host. This is just a quess but take a look at the sqlnet server on your host. If your host is a UNIX system you would type "tcpctl stat" in an account that has proper privaleges. (i.e. DBA) this is not an oracle account but a UNIX account. If you see nothing wrong try shutting down and restarting SQL*NET on the host.
