Windows Products: SQL*Net 1.1; Oracle RDBMS 7.1(?); Oracle Forms 4.0;
Oracle Reports 2.0; SQL*Plus 3.1; Pro*C (latest)



SunOs 4.1.2 Products: SQL*Net 1.1; Oracle RDBMS 6.0.36; SQL*Forms 3.0;
SQL*ReportWriter 1.1; SQL*Menu 5.0; CASE*Dictionary 5.0; SQL*Plus 3.1 
-will upgrade next year.



Our Uni. has the above products listed. I'd like some advice on how to
best use the products, please. Here are some questions that I'd like
some responses to:



    
  
  1.   what are the differences/similarities between the products on 
   these platforms?

  
  2.   is it better to have Windows products connect to RDBMS on SunOs 
    or PC?

  
  3.   performance wise, which is faster - PC products connecting to RDBMS
   on SunOs or PC?

  
  4.   administration of products & RDBMS & users : which is more robust,
   secure, easy to manage - PC or SunOs?






Please help me out. I'd appreciate any input at all.
