Unix is the leading multi-user OS, and Sun is far & away the most popular Unix platform. PC stands for Personal Computer. Now, which do you you think is suited as server & which as client? From the point of view of product robustness & platform admin tools?

And BTW, note that Oracle's promised not to release v7.x for MS-DOS.

You can run all the front-end stuff from a PC over SQL*Net, and my one suggestion is to use stored procedures as much as possible so more work is done in the RDBMS, e.g. avoid perhaps voluminous network traffic for front-end processing.
