**HELP**with SQL*Net/ORACLE connect

I'm having a great deal of trouble getting a connection between SQL*Plus
for Windows and our ORACLE database on the (UNIX) mainframe.



I believe I'm designating the connect string correctly, and I suspect that
there is a configuration problem with SQL*NEt on the mainframe.



Assuming that I've got everything installed correctly on the pc, what are
some points to check for on the mainframe?



I don't know anything about the mainframe, the person who installed SQL*Net
on the mainframe is too busy to help me and isn't positive she did it right.



I'm sure she'll sit down with me if someone knows what are some important
points to look for, rather than having to pore over oracle's voluminous and
confusing documentation.  Can someone help?



I'd greatly 'ppreciate it!
