i have always wanted to do that myself...just make sure these tables are in a separate tablespace...also make sure that the ramdisk is up and running before Oracle...because the tablespace must point to an existing file for Oracle to start.

I don't now about the SUN end of this but if a RAMDISK will resolve a place in memory to a simple filename and the file will not change at all (checksum) each time it is placed in memory then this should work
