Someone replied with information on two GISs that use Oracle: MicroStation and MapInfo. A third is ARC/INFO, from ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.) While ARC/INFO has traditionally kept its tabular data in INFO, it has in recent years permitted this type of information to be stored in external databases, one of which is Oracle. ESRI also produces a great product called ArcView, which is a very friendly tool for displaying ARC/INFO data. Version 1 of ArcView did not permit access to external RDBMSs, but version 2 (due out "any time") will. I think that anyone looking at GIS products would have to consider the ESRI offerings.
