You would have to install the DBA server products for the databases you want to access. But you do not need the net products of the databases. I doubt, that it is possible to write any ODBC driver for a remote access which does not need any additional products on the server side. Somehow you have to communicate with the DBMS. And for that you need either the net product of the DBMS or something else.
