Juhani, you are correct. I dont believe Oracle requires any proprietary features and theoretically any winsock dll should work. However standards evolve over time (Isnt that why version numbers were invented ? (-: ) Winsock is still maturing and there are quite a few differences between implementations. Also reality many times has little to do with what ought to happen ;-> right?
