There are only three vendors of this type of product at this point (Transarc, USL/Nvell and NCR); they all provide proprietary API's. The API is the point of the product; it provides access to the function libraries these vendors are selling you.

FWIW, Transarc has been most closely aligned with the OSF, providing a fair amount of the DCE technology.
