Re: Unable to start the Application Server Service(Follow up)

Its me again. I later noticed that the Admin listener is not running. Its wired though. When I goto OAS Utilities in Server Manager. It says :

Name    port/type      Node      System id      Status
admin    8889/              home       Down           <shows me a red flag> which means its down.
             Oracle 4.0

Now when I try to stop it by selecting the lister, it throws a javascript popup and says :

MachineName:8888-(Javascript Application) as its title.(I have not idea why it says 8888)
Admin listener is not running.

Now when I try to restart the listener it says:
Oracle Application Server 4.0.7.0.0EnterpriseEdition
OWS-08806: Oracle Web Listener `admin' is already UP and running at pid 538976288.

Any suggestions will be very helpful

Hello All,

I am kinda new to this Oracle Application Server software. I just installed a OAS4.0.7 on my NT machine. Everything
went fine. When I tried to run the sample application I keep getting the Error message saying :

    Can not service this request, please try again later

And when I tried to start the "OracleStartOAS 4.0(OraHomeForOAS,website40)" in services(in control panel) I got the
following error:

Could not start the OracleStartOAS 4.0(OraHomeForOAS,website40) service on \\machine name
Error 2186: The service is not responding to the control function.

Can you please tell me what went wrong ?
