Watch out. Developer uses sql*net and oracle8 comes with Net8.
You need to install both.
Developer 6 uses Net8, but 5x products are still sql*net.
Then make sure you have a proper tnsnames.ora file in
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
You may also need the sqlnet.ora file as well.
