Forms error when using DDE

I am experiencing a peculiar error with an Oracle Forms app that I am
developing.
When trying to execute the following statement:
CONV_ID := DDE.INITIATE('WINWORD','SYSTEM');
I get the following Oracle error:
ORA-106556
I can't seem to find out what that error code means, it is not present in
any documentation that I can lay my hands on.
If you have any clue what this means please give me a reply.
